Supersonic 2009, a student‐organized exhibition of artwork by M.F.A. candidates from eight of Southern California’s graduate fine art programs, will run in conjunction with the Los Angeles Art. Art works of all media will be presented by students from the following institutions: Art Center College of Design, Claremont Graduate University, Otis College of Art and Design, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, and University of Southern California.

Southern California maintains its reputation as a world-leading cultural center because of its concentration of innovative institutions and ground breaking graduate art programs. These programs, which award Masters of Fine Arts degrees, bring together renowned faculty and dynamic students. This environment fosters the development of exciting, culturally significant, new contributions to the art world, while also housing amazing established arts. Supersonic 2009 brings together nearly 100 artists from eight of Southern California’s top‐tier art programs to present work of intellectual and artistic significance in one central location.

Now in its forth incarnation, is, and has been, an outstanding opportunity for these M.F.A. students to share their work with the larger Southern California community, as well as dialogue with each other.
